The flash hike season is quickly coming upon us with the weather getting better and the tourism season upon us.

What are flash hikes?

Flash hikes were created by me two years ago while running the Tourism Information Center in downtown Granite Falls, Washington. Many people want to hike but not by themselves so the flash hikes give them an option of either hiking with me or knowing that others will be on the trail. If you find me on the trail you can ask me for historical info and just say "Hi".

Flash hikes consist of news alerts 24 to 48 hours before the hike is to take place. You are given the date, time and place to meet, and trail to be hiked. Interested in signing up for these notices.... sign up at with the subject line "Flash Hikes".

Some of the trails that might be included this year:

Big Four Ice Caves
Lake 22
Heather Lake
Goat Lake
Mt Pilchuck Lookout
Lake Kelcema
Independence Lake
Boulder River
Lime Kiln Trail
Old Robe Trail
